BFS Cares

Being a champion of small business also means caring about the needs of the local community because small businesses thrive when the community is strong. BFS Capital is committed to improving the strength and health of the local community.  Through donations and sponsorship, we support local charities’ efforts to create a more stable, vibrant community.

Covenant House Florida

(September 2017)

Covenant House Florida provides shelter and services to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth under 21 including teen parents and their babies. They work hard to reunite kids with their families, collaborate with community agencies and organizations and actively participate in community efforts to improve the conditions of families and children. Their mission is based on faith and the belief that all children and youth have a right to love, respect, and genuine concern.

To add to this difficult task, Hurricane Irma hit our state of Florida and left the local facility without power for over a week.  BFS Capital immediately took action and donated supplies and a hot meal from Casa Tequila for up to 80 youths that the local Fort Lauderdale location provides shelter to.  We are happy to announce that the Covenant House has since gained back power and is moving full speed in their mission.

March of Dimes

(March 2017)

Each year, about half a million babies are born premature or with birth defects in the US.  The March of Dimes works to end premature birth and other problems that threaten our babies.  To support this amazing initiative, the BFS Capital team raised over $7,300 and attended the organization’s annual March for Babies walk in May.  For our support and contribution, BFS Capital was honored at the 2017 March of Dimes Awards Ceremony as the second highest grossing team in the financial sector.  Together, BFS Capital employees and their family members helped give more babies a fighting chance.

Angel Tree (sponsored by The Salvation Army)

(December 2016)

The Broward County chapter of The Salvation Army sponsors The Angel Tree program, which is dedicated to providing children with gifts during the Christmas season. BFS Capital participated and employees and their families contributed more than 170 gifts for the children of South Florida who may not have had a present at Christmas.

Feeding South Florida

(August 2016)

Feeding South Florida

Feeding South Florida is the sole Feeding America food bank serving Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dad, and Monroe Counties.  Feeding South Florida sponsors a Backpack Program, delivering food to feed those children who don’t have enough to eat between Friday’s school lunch and Monday’s school breakfast.  Through this program, approximately 1800 children receive 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners at the end of each school week.  These children would otherwise go hungry over the weekend.  Between employee contributions and the monetary match by the Company, BFS Capital donated 1,717 items, bringing our grand total to a value of $2,482.

SOS  Children's Villages

(December 2015)

SOS Children’s Villages is an international organization dedicated to providing homes for foster children while striving to keep siblings together.  The Florida chapter maintains a community with twelve houses, home to 75 foster boys and girls.  BFS Capital employees donated toys and household essentials to provide these foster children with the most basic comforts of home.
