Let’s be honest, one of the main reasons people watch the Super Bowl is for the commercials. Every year, there’s always a story, as part of the ramp up to the big game, which talks about the going rates of ad spots.
In 2011, it cost $3 million for 30 seconds of air time. I’m sure that number blows your mind like it does mine. Three million dollars for 30 seconds…that’s $100,000 a second!
As a small business owner, being able to afford a spot like that probably seems like pipe dream. But, what if I told you that you had a shot at winning a FREE 30 second ad spot during the Super Bowl? It may sound like it’s too good to be true, but for one lucky business owner this year, that dream will become a reality.
Business software company, Intuit, launched a nationwide contest in which any U.S. based company with less than 50 full-time employees could win a free 30-second ad.
Entering the contest is easy. Simply submit your business story to www.smallbusinessbiggame.com by Sept. 22. Once you’re entered, start promoting! This graphic from the contest website explains how the voting works:
In addition to the grand prize, entrants have the chance to win other great prizes, including $1,000 in small business grants, $100 credit for Google Adwords and a trip for two to the Super Bowl, including round-trip flights, flights and tickets to the game (which takes place in New York this year, meaning that you could have a chance to see the Giants win another Super Bowl, in their hometown – Go G-men!)
So, what are you waiting for? Someone has to win the contest, right? Why can’t it be you and your business?
